Fran Levin
Fran Levin has been doing and teaching energy healing work since 1985. Fran has studied in person with healers from around the world including Ethel Lombardi (one of the first 22 Reiki Masters in the US initiated by Hawayo Takata), Alberto Aguas (Brazilian healer, “Ama Deus”), Therapeutic Touch founders Dolores Krieger, RN, PhD and Dora Kunz, Chinese Energetic Medicine with Dr. Kam Yuen (Yuen Method) and Louise Hay (“You Can Heal Your Life).
Often, practitioners who go into the energy healing field get their start by looking for relief from their own physical issue. In 1983, Fran was looking for an alternative to medication to treat her irritable bowel syndrome that she had suffered with since childhood. She had a friend who had taken the Silva mind control course and recommended the book by José Silva to her. After reading the book and teaching herself to go into a deep meditative self-hypnosis state Fran was able to find relief for her IBS without using medication.
The defining moment for Fran to learn more about energy healing was when she tried an absent healing technique that she read about in the Silva mind control book and it worked! She was able to mentally go inside her father’s hip just after a hip replacement surgery and imagined sending him blue healing light. At that time they lived 600 miles apart and her father was able to feel his pain subside at the exact same moment that Fran was meditating. After that experience Fran also discovered her ability to help alleviate pain for others with her hands.
These early experiences led Fran into her lifetime exploration of all that energy healing can do to help people.
One of Fran’s favorite healing stories is when she worked with a fellow social work student who had Lupus. Linda was in her 20s and in the debilitating stage of lupus where she needed a wheelchair and could barely flex her joints. After receiving one treatment from the group of volunteers whom Fran had trained in healing energy, Linda was able to get up from the massage table and do deep knee bends. She no longer needed the wheelchair. After five more individual sessions with Fran, the Lupus went into remission and years later, she was still doing fine!
After serving for 25 years as a social worker and administrator for the Veterans Affairs Health Care Systems, Fran is focusing full time on her “Encore Career” in private practice as a clinical social worker and energy healer. She sees clients and teaches healthcare workers and lay persons how to do energy healing, such as Therapeutic Touch and Reiki. She also teaches classes in self-hypnosis for meditation, problem solving and healing.
