Two of America’s top barbers, Randy Dingus and his son Randy, own a chain of barber shops called The Barber Shop & Company and were special guests at an Antonino Salon educational event on November 4. Established in 1988, Randy’s business has grown to 20 locations throughout Virginia and Maryland where he has trained over 100 barbers in his specialty.

Antonino stylists learned how to perfect the art of clipper cutting by watching the father and son team demonstrate their unique techniques followed by the opportunity to practice their cuts on mannequin heads.

Antonino Salon’s Exclusive Hair Color Line

Antonino Salon and Spa prides itself on being innovative and up to date on all the current hair cutting and coloring techniques.

One of the things that make us special is the exclusive hair color line that we use; Primary Syn. This one of a kind hair color line was designed by hairdressers with hairdressers in mind. Using the smallest amount of ammonia possible (smaller than any other hair color company in existence), it leaves the hair in better condition after a hair color service than before. Primary Syn (syn being short for synergy) gives the  hairdresser a complete color palette, so they can create a personalized color formula that is unique to each client. “Clients can be assured that their hair color is truly ‘one of a kind’ and made especially for them”, says Anthony Marsalese, owner of Antonino Salon and Spa and Artistic Director for Primary Syn Hair Color.

Antonino Salon Launches New Advanced Education System

 

Antonino Salon stylists have always been held to a high standard of advanced education and professionalism and we are very proud to announce that we’ve raised our own bar once again.

Teaming up with Vivienne Mackinder, one of the world’s finest hairdressers, Antonino Salon stylist’s recently completed a rigorous 17 week advanced hairdressing course. Each week stylists worked together watching web videos detailing very precise classic hairstyling techniques taught by the legendary hairdresser. During this innovative course, our stylists would recreate the “style of the week”, then submit it for review to Vivienne Mackinder herself. She would then personally rate their techniques in both technical and creative categories and offer individual advice.

“The beauty of the course is that it is designed for all stylists, whether they’ve been in the business for 20 years or 20 minutes”, said Anthony Marsalese, owner of Antonino Salon, adding “it pushed us out of our comfort zones and made us all realize that there is always room for improvement”.

Upcoming courses include advanced hair cutting for women and men, advanced hair coloring, additional styling techniques, including Antonino’s signature “French Blow dry” and a course on professionalism.

We are proud that all our stylists understand the importance of staying at the top of their game and they continue to learn the newest trends so they can pass them onto each of our guests.

The first half of 2014 has been very exciting at Antonino Salon and Spa and the second half promises to bring even more excitement.

We began the year introducing our wildly popular Blow-Dry “Bundles“. Available in packages of four, eight, twelve and twenty, Blow dry bundles help our guests look and feel their best and save them money too.

We also raised the bar on advanced education requirements for our stylists. With training by the world’s finest hairdresser, Vivienne Mackinder, Antonino stylists completed their first semester; a challenging 17 week hands-on  course specializing in advanced hairdressing techniques. Next up? Another 17 weeks of advanced hair cutting techniques.

Antonino Salon and Spa also underwent a makeover. Six months of planning paid off when in two short days, the salon completely reinvented itself. Now, when guests first enter the salon, they are greeted immediately by one of our concierges at our new Welcome Center. We also created new retail, makeup and skin care centers, refaced our color bar, added new lighting and developed a new layout for our styling stations. You can see our new look by taking a virtual tour of the salon.

Watch for more events in the second half of 2014, including a new software system that will make your visit with us even better. Guests will be able to book appointments, shop and even check out from the comfort of their stylist’s station. You’ll also be able to shop our virtual store and book appointments on-line from anywhere in the world.

In the Fall of 2014, we plan on introducing “Club Antonino”. Members will enjoy many benefits, including complimentary blow-dries and treatments, discounts on hair and skin care products, special pricing on salon and spa services. plus many more monthly surprises.
